Blending in Photoshop
So, one of the most important things in graphic making is blending and it? also one of the easiest. This tutorial will be at beginner level because I don? believe that somebody who doesn? know how to blend would understand advanced level. There are many different ways to blend but I? only going to show you one, for the one I'm going to teach you is the easiest.
Lasso tool
Okay, I? assuming that you have your Adobe Photoshop open and ready to learn. I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 but I? pretty sure that the ways to blend work in every version.1. Now, the first step is to find some images. I? using these:
2. Then, go to File- New. A window will pop up and it will look like this:
Match your settings to mine.
3. Okay, don? be surprised when a new window pops out. DO NOT close it down or do anything to it you would normally do to internet pop-ups. Now, I want you to open your two images. If you?e done that, move on.
Make sure the images are on RGB color. If you want to check, go to Image- Mode and you?l know. If it? not, change it to RGB color.
4. Use the Move Tool (Press V) to take one of the images and move it to the blank image so it?l look like this:
Then move it around so it suits you. But make sure that you don? move it too much into the middle.
5. Do the same to the other image so that it now looks like this:
6. Now, use the Lasso Tool (Press L) and then right click. There will be a menu thing that looks like this:
Select the Magnetic Lasso tool. After you?e done that, use it and select the part when you want to blend it. It should look like this now:
7. Make sure that the selected part is on your second layer. After you?e done that, right click on the selected part and click on Feather. It looks like this:
A window will pop out and punch in 20 for the Feather radius pixels. Click OK.
8. After that, just click Delete on your keyboard until it is blended enough for you.
